FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm located in Central Vermont. I am licensed to work with clients throughout Vermont.
I am a fully virtual-based therapist.
Sessions take place on a confidential, HIPAA compliant software called Simple Practice. You will receive a session link 24-48 hours before your appointment. You will need a camera, microphone, internet connection, and a safe, private location to meet.
Please note, I do not have plans to return to in-person therapy at this time.
Sessions are 50 minutes and typically recommended to start at once a week. As we go, we'll collaborate and adjust the frequency together based on your needs and goals.
*If you have specific accommodation needs around session length or how often we meet, I’m happy to discuss options so therapy feels accessible and supportive for you.
Yes! I use the Green Bottle method to guide my sliding scale. This method uses three “bottles” (or tiers) to help you decide what fee range best matches your financial situation.
Full Bottle/Tier 1 – You can meet your basic needs comfortably, have expendable income, and paying the full fee feels sustainable.
Middle Bottle/Tier 2 – You can meet your basic needs but paying the full fee might cause some strain. This option makes therapy more accessible while still supporting my practice.
Low Bottle/Tier 3 – You have difficulty meeting your basic needs, and paying the middle or full fee would prevent you from accessing therapy.
The Green Bottle method gives you the autonomy to choose the fee within a particular range that feels fair and manageable for your circumstances, without needing to share personal financial details.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots at any given time to ensure each client receives the attention and support they need. Because of this, I do not maintain a waitlist. If a sliding scale slot is not currently available, I encourage you to check back later, or reach out to discuss other possible options for support.
I ask that clients provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule a session. Each client receives one free late cancellation or no-show pass. Though, this free pass does not apply to the first session.
Please note, if you arrive more than 15 minutes late without notice or cancel within 24 hours, the session may be subject to a fee.

Under the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), health care providers need to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items/services, which is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). This Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs at the time the estimate was created. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill by contacting your health care provider or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
